Getting funding for Postgraduate study in the Department of Genetics
Each year we normally offer a number of Research Council studentships, which can cover course fees and residence fees for UK residents. We generally admit a number of overseas applicants, who are also eligible for funded studentships.
If you are seeking funding as well as a place in the Department you must apply much earlier than if you are self funded, in some cases as much as a year in advance.
The University of Cambridge Graduate Prospectus web pages cover the subjects of funding and costs in detail. They also provide links to the relevant Research Councils for UK applicants, and to the Cambridge Trusts for overseas applicants. The School of Biological Sciences website also has information on funds and Fellowships specifically in biology and medicine.
