NST 1A Mathematical Biology
Mathematical Biology is taught by biologists from the Departments of Plant Sciences and Zoology who use mathematics in their research, with examples drawn from biochemistry, physiology, ecology and genetics. It is one of two courses specifically designed for first year biologists and is suitable for those who have studied mathematics to A level or equivalent.
Elementary Mathematics for Biologists is for students who have not done A level maths. All biology students must either do one or other of these two courses, or mathematics designed for physical scientists.
