2012 is the Centenary year of the foundation, by an anonymous donor, of the Arthur Balfour Chair of Genetics at the University of Cambridge. This will be celebrated on 7 September with a Symposium, which will cover both the research undertaken in the Department currently, and in the past 100 years.
