Department of Genetics

 

The Department of Genetics is delighted to announce the newly-established Al-Kindi Professorship.

This endowment is named after the 9th Century mathematician-philosopher Abu Yusuf Ya'qub ibn Ishaq al-Kindi, in acknowledgement of its interdisciplinary focus on mathematical, computational, and systematical aspects of genetics. It is part of a new research initiative within the School of Biological Sciences, 'Quantitative Dynamics of Living Systems'.

Applications are invited from persons whose work is connected with the quantitative dynamics of living systems. The successful candidate will take up their appointment on 1 October 2017, or as soon as possible thereafter.
