Alex Patto, who recently undertook his PhD research in the Department of Genetics, has gained the top overall Vice-Chancellor's Impact Award. These awards were established to recognise research with an impact beyond academia.
Alex and colleagues in the Department of Physics developed Waterscope, components of which can be 3D-printed on site, allowing water to be tested in developing communities in remote areas.
