Very many congratulations to Chin Yap of the Kimata group for taking the prize for best poster at this years Graduate School of the Life Sciences Poster and Image competition on 13 March. This is an open competition across the Schools of Biological Sciences and Clinical Medicine, attracting almost 50 entries every year that are invariably very high quality. Posters represent all levels of study, from first year Graduate students up to post-docs.
There were 4 prizes to be won :- Best MPhil or 1year PhD poster; Best 2nd or 3rd year PhD poster; Best 4th year PhD or post-doc poster; Best over all.
Chin won best over all - Not bad considering he only began his studies in October! The title of his poster is 'Vihar; The Storm Chasers - The effects of Vihar over-expression on centrosome numbers'. A copy of the poster [plus the other winners' entries] can be found at:
