Overriding reverse DNS for a single IP

This is probably a bad idea. I'm just experimenting with Kerberos and don't have full control over my reverse dns.

To override

Append to your named.conf (for ubuntu, named.conf.local):

zone "" in {
type master;
// specific filename doesn't really matter
file "/etc/bind/";

And create a zonefile like: IN SOA (
2004071349 ; serial
10800 ; refresh (3 hours)
900 ; retry (15 minutes)
1814400 ; expire (3 weeks)
10800 ; minimum (3 hours)
$TTL 600 ; 10 minutes
